First round of the League Championship and we were away in the Marble City , on the back pitch in OLG on a sunny Friday evening.
We had met earlier on this season in the Summer League and that resulted in a comprehensive victory in Piltown for the home side, would that happen here?
Well, after 20 seconds it looked unlikely as Aoife Doyle burst through and scored a goal to give the away side a great start. Laura Murphy got her first of the night and these were both scored in the first minute! Could we have a close game in store for us?
Maybe not, as Piltown stayed in high gear throughout the first half with Kellyann Doyle , Ruby Norris , Grace Farrell , and Katie Power all getting on the score sheet . We had the breeze and we had the firepower to build up a big lead at half time.

Aoife Doyle got the second half underway with a beauty of a point from out on the left sideline as the away side kept going forward. The Home side were restricted to three points ,all from Laura Murphy , but Piltowns scoring was more spread out among players, Sophie Holden, Leah Cooney , Ellen O'Keeffe , Aine Doyle all contributing to the high tally.
