Senior Camogie A.C.L Final - Friday 31st July '26.

DICKSBORO 2 -16  PILTOWN 1 -13
Another final , and another face off of the big two of Kilkenny Camogie. And bar two outlier results in the past two seasons, its was Dicksboro that kept their good run against the south Kilkenny side as they claimed the ACL (summer) League in fine style on their home pitch in Palmerstown.
And like all of the previous meetings between the two , it was nip and tuck until the final few minutes and the home side kicked on and finished the stronger.

Piltown started the game the stronger , with three points in the first three minutes from Ruby Norris, Sophie Holden and Grace Farrell before Amy Clifford pointed for the home side. Rachel Dowling , who had a great first half and claimed 5 points by the break, levelled the score after nine minutes from two frees. It was a tough battle, a hard pitch, a warm evening and a trophy at stake, tension was high, tempers flared and thats what you expect when these two sides meet.
Amy Clifford , who was instrumental in a lot of the good things the home side did, scored two points, Aoife Doyle replied with two of her own, Sophie Holden did likewise and then a crucial score in the 17th minute as Amy Clifford was set up after a great run straight down the middle from sister Jenny, and the number 14 gave Rachel Tennyson in the Piltown no chance , as she was free to shoot to the net. The lead was now four points, and the battle was on. Leah Cooney and Sophie replied, and then another crucial moment, as a long ball was let in towards the Boro square and in the middle of a gaggle of players, up popped Katie Power and got a crucial touch on the sliothar to divert it past Cara Duggan in the goal at the Clubhouse end to level the scores on the stroke of half time.
DICKSBORO 1 -08  PILTOWN 1 -08

Dicksboro made a few changes at half time, bringing on Angela Carroll and Asha McHardy , with Orla Hanrick also coming on , but before any of those touched the ball, it was corner forward Rose Kelly getting in around the Piltown defence and hitting the Piltown net, a blistering start for the home side. Sophie Holden scored her fourth of the night, with another super point as she jinked past two defenders and put it between the posts. The Piltown defence was under pressure, Danielle Carroll , Patsy Kenny and Jenni ODea putting their bodies on the line as they tried to turn the tide. Sophie Holden was playing really well, causing trouble when she could , but on the other side there was Amy Clifford who scored 3 of the next 4 points for Dicksboro. Grace Farrell scored 2 of the next 3 for Piltown, but we struggled to make much headway down the field as the game went on, the stiff breeze that was an aid to the Boro in the first half disappeared in the second half, and in the final eight minutes Boro outscored Piltown by five points to one to claim the victory, the trophy and the bragging rights. A good game that was right in the mix until the final five minutes. Well done to both sides on a tough, entertaining game played in front of a good crowd. Congrats to the winners.
