Piltown Under 16’s produced their best performance of the year so far, with a 1-point win away to Barrow Rangers in a fiercely contested League Championship match.

Piltown made an excellent start and looked in control during the opening stages. Although the home side fought back before the break, Piltown will have been disappointed not to have built a bigger lead going in at half-time ahead by just 3-points, 1-12 to 3-9.

Barrow Rangers came out strongly after the break and got on top. Piltown found themselves under pressure and trailed by 5-points with just 10 minutes to go, in what was turning into a very physical encounter.

However, the Piltown lads rallied in the closing stages. A strong finish saw them overturn the deficit and secure a memorable 3-19 to 4-17 victory.

It was a brilliant team effort by our lads, and a thoroughly deserved win.
