Matches are coming thick and fast for our u8 hurlers.
Tuesday evening’s challenge match against Mooncoin perfectly whetted the appetite for our latest Go Games blitz in Mullinavat on Saturday morning, where a feast of hurling awaited.
Despite a number of players being away on summer holidays and a few late absences through illness, we still travelled with a strong panel of 18 eager and battle-ready hurlers.
Represented by two teams, Piltown played four games each against St Lachtain’s, O'Loughlin Gaels and Mullinavat, all of whom provided excellent opposition throughout the morning.
From the first whistle to the last, every skill was on display. The standard of hurling was excellent, with all the matches closely contested and plenty of positive comments from those watching on.
The players’ technical ability continues to improve with every outing, and as their confidence grows, we will continue to place greater emphasis on positional awareness and game understanding.
It’s onwards and upwards for this excellent group of enthusiastic young hurlers. As always, a sincere thank you to our coaches and parents for their continued commitment, support and encouragement.
