Our u14s travelled to Callan on Sunday evening for our deferred Round 1 match v John Lockes.
A number of the squad weren't available for the fixture and in the end we faced the opposition with 14 players.
Thankfully John Lockes matched our numbers which they weren't obliged to do- so thanks again for the great display of sportsmanship.
Piltown were slow to get going ( playing against the breeze and uphill in the first half) but soon found our feet and went into the break 2.3- 1.3 down.
The second half is where the extra players for Callan showed as it allowed Callan to make rolling changes and while our girls battled hard- the deficit was still just 1 goal at the final whistle 4.4-3.4
For a number of girls it was their second match of the day- and this was no mean feat in the glorious sunshine.
4 different scorers on the day and thanks again to the parents/players who travelled.
