Monday 4th May 2026 marked the first official match to take place on our new front pitch.
The pitch has been closed for nearly 2 years for major renovations and resizing.
A beautiful day, a large crowd and a great rival, the ball was throw in at 4pm Piltown v Windgap.
As with every game against these neighbouring clubs, the hurling was tough and hard, no inch given.
Windgap started much the better and at half time were comfortable leaders, going in 0.07 to 0.14 ahead.
Piltown came out with a new least of life in the 2nd half, and point by point they clawed themselves back into contention.
With 5 minutes to go we were back to within 2 points, 19 points to 17.
We exchanged points down the final straight and Piltown pointed late into injury time to draw level at 21 points each.
This was the final score.
Final score
Well done to both teams.
It was great to see such a great crowd at the game.
Well done to all that have been working on this pitch over the past 2 years.
Attached are a few photos of the day.
